Caitriona Balfe has done her Outlander fans a mighty big favor.
To help stem the pain that is annually known as Droughtlander, the actress posted a quick sneak peek of a new set from season 5 of the Starz drama. The network hasn’t officially announced when the actors are returning to production, but clearly something is about to happen because Balfe is in the house!
In her Instagram post, Balfe peruses a set that features a mantel, wainscoted walls, and lots of fancy molding. Care to guess whose house it may be? No, really, please guess: We haven’t a clue.
Balfe doesn’t seem to know. She starts the video with “I don’t know yet,” before swinging her phone around a corner and finding the great production designer Jon Gary Steele.
“And so it begins,” Balfe writes. “Season 5 (yep that’s 1, 2, 3, 4 … FIVE) prep time !!! Excuse the shrill shouting but I was very very excited to catch Jon Gary Steele on the incredible new set he and his team of genius artisans have built !!! Get READY!!”
Season 5 will be based on The Fiery Cross, the fifth book in Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling book series. Balfe told The Irish Times last month that she and Sam Heughan now have producing credits on the series (which also means they got tidy raises).
In May of last year, Starz announced that it has picked up fifth and sixth seasons of Outlander. The network has not announced a premiere date for the new season.
